Probably beats preparing for a drab World Cup qualifier against Lithuania tomorrow. Of course tonight's focus will quickly turn to Crolla v Linares but it wouldn't be fight night without an undercard.

In particular we're looking at the mighty Katie Taylor v Milena Koleva and Brian Rose v Jack Arnfield. Rose v Arnfield is currently in the fourth round with both keeping their difference early on.

They're fighting for the WBA international middleweight championship. It took Taylor four rounds to send Koleva packing.

Promoter Eddie Hearn - the man behind Anthony Joshua - used tonight to boost the Irish fighter's profile.

That's happening for sure. It was a tough fight and Jorge won. I believe there is more room for improvement with me and I believe it can be a different result.

It's about that time yet again. Last week we had the delights of Gennady Golovkin winning on points against Daniel Jacobs. This week we get to see two supreme lightweights in Anthony Crolla and Jorge Linares go toe-to-toe yet again for the WBC lightweight championship.

Will it go the distance like it did last week in New York? Get your suggestions in. Pre-fight build-up on its way from Manchester Arena.

Anthony Crolla can take revenge against Jorge Linares when they clash for the WBC lightweight championship in Manchester on Saturday night.

The former WBC lightweight champion lost his belt in September before a rematch was agreed. In addition to the WBA title, Linares' Ring Magazine belt will also be on the line.

The pair have great respect for each other but Crolla believes being the underdog has him fired up more than ever to win his crown back.

I hope you've enjoyed our coverage. Crolla has 'big balls', says Linares. And the winner JORGE LINARES - scored by all three judges. Bit messy now Jeff Powell's ninth round verdict at ringside.

Jeff Powell's eighth round verdict at ringside. Crolla beginning to turn it on against the odds. The champion, still smiling, has this however unless anything changes dramatically.

Jeff Powell's seventh round verdict at ringside. Bigger and better combinations from Linares Better from Crolla but he's taking damage.

Linares changing gears Jeff Powell's fourth round verdict at ringside. Crolla struggling to catch his breath Jeff Powell's third round verdict at ringside.

Linares looking strong, even stopping to smile. Jeff Powell's second round verdict at ringside. Linares edges it yet again after connecting with cleaner punches.

Jeff Powell's first round verdict at ringside. Seconds away from getting started in Manchester The crowd are ready for this but you wonder whether Crolla is.

Linares is primed. Howard Foster from Doncaster, Yorkshire will referee tonight's fight. Let's get these 12 rounds of boxing started then.

Master of Ceremonies John McDonald: 'Manchester, let's get ready! Right then Jorge Linares v Anthony Crolla.

It's difficult to look past Linares despite Crolla being on home turf. After 12 rounds of Arnfield and Rose it goes to the judges Finally, Linares makes an appearance Twenty minutes from the ringwalk Rose and Arnfield threatening to delay that.

Crolla is doing a good job of cutting off the ring at every opportunity though, and he throws a bodyshot which rocks his opponent.

The pace of this fight is beginning to take its toll, with Crolla still pressing and still throwing big shots. Linares has to survive a difficult moment on the ropes, with Crolla happy to stand and unload, but the Venezuelan does well to skip out of trouble.

But now Crolla is in trouble, real trouble! Crolla was in control and winning the round, but Linares — scrapping to stay in the round — throws a big right-hand which wobbles Crolla!

This is terrific from Crolla, never allowing Linares time or space to control the fight and use his feet.

Crolla head to body, looking to break his rival. Linares clearly tiring, crowd roaring Crolla on again, Body shot, upper cut from the home fighter.

Now Crolla is really hurt with 20 seconds left in the round. Dazed and hurt. This is turning into a thriller. S lower start to this round, both men perhaps taking a few moments to compose themselves.

But they exchange big right hands on the ropes and Crolla looks to have opened up a cut on the face of Linares…. But here comes the Venezuelan!

Rapid combination to the head of Crolla, looking to bypass that guard. The blood is really pouring down the face of Linares and Crolla is trying to back him up at every opportunity to take advantage of that.

The bell goes, and I think Crolla may have shaded that one. Great right over the top from Crolla, Linares cut.

Crolla unrelenting, closing his man down, hunting Linares, who is still countering but Crolla's jab working well now. Much better round for Crolla.

And he starts this round well! Backing his rival up and unloading, striking Linares with two big bodyshots.

Linares is then in trouble again for throwing more low blows! Crolla is really unhappy and this time Linares gets a real ticking off.

Still Crolla pads forward and they exchange body shots, and it looks as though Crolla is in trouble on the ropes!

His head sags and Linares scents blood … but the ref intervenes for another low blow! That looked a decent show from Linares whatever the crowd are protesting for, I think the local lad has got lucky with that one.

He bounds forward after taking a moment to compose himself but still Linares is throwing some big shots, and he looks to up the pace after that unwelcome intervention, ending the round with another decent right hook to the body.

Real belief from Crolla in game plan of pressure and attack and makes Linares work. Now the Mancunian on the offensive. Crowd loves this. Low blow Linares.

Crolla turns and walks away. Warning from Terry O'Connor. They trade body blows. Low again. Bad, this. But no point deducted Crowd roar Crolla on.

Terrific action as they trade to the body again. Linares hand speed slowed towards end of that round. C rolla still looking to back Linares up, and Linares picks up another small ticking off for landing a low blow.

Crolla very quick to complain there. Linares is still troubling Crolla with these rapid-fire counter combinations, which are amazing to see.

The Venezuelan possess such incredible speed. Another clinch, and then another couple of good shots to the body from Linares, although Crolla advances and backs his opponent up onto the ropes.

They are trading body shots again. But Linares hand speed telling early. Crolla keeping the pressure on, but Linares fires back, and counters 1,2,3,4.

Awesome skill, allied with speed. But Crolla trying to break the visitor. Left hand right hook combination from Linares. But Crolla staying with his foe.

The ref does give Linares a little warning though, after one shot drops low. Crolla is looking to cut Linares off but his ring intelligence is superb, and twice in rapid succession he bounces off the ropes and spins around Crolla, before looking to counter with hard shots to the body.

We then have the first clinch of the fight, which Linares follows up with a lightening quick combo the body.

Great right and body shots from Linares, some blocked by Crolla. They tie up for the first time. Crolla guard tight.

Body and head attacks from the speed of Linares. Crolla pawing with the jab. Great movement from Linares. Real speed here. Crolla still cutting the ring off, and Crolla lands to the body.

Crolla soaks up the shot well and maintains his high guard, but Linares ends the round on the front foot, and I think he edged that opening round.

Body shots early and plenty of attack from Crolla as three-weight world champion Linares plays possum. Linares lands left to the liver and looks sharp.

Jabs to the body from the Venezuelan. Even round. T he boxers have been introduced, the anthems have been sung, and the sponsors have had their names loudly shouted out by the MC about four times.

Which means we're ready to get this underway! Round by round updates, as well as insight from our boxing correspondent Gareth A Davies, to follow.

T he Venezuelan anthem is still going strong. Not that you can really hear it mind, a rousing rendition of ' Oh Anth-ony Crol-la ' almost drowns it out, followed by a chorus of loud jeers.

Linares looks confident though, calmly stepping into the ring and pacing around the ring with a relaxed expression on his face. S weet Caroline is the greatest song ever recorded, isn't it?

They're blaring it out at the Manchester Arena, and Sky aren't even bothering to attempt any punditry during it, they're just allowing the cameraman to pick out drunk fans singing their hearts out.

But Linares is the more graceful, skilful boxer: his hand speed combined with his footwork and ring-intelligence makes his a formidable opponent, and tremendous fun to watch.

But there are weaknesses there, too. He is renowned for having a weak chin, for example, and is susceptible to cuts. L inares is aware of these weaknesses, though, and has said he has learnt from the mistakes of his compatriot Ismael Barroso, who Crolla knocked out in his previous fight.

He came rushing out and Anthony absorbed the early attack and imposed himself on Ismael and won the fight in style. C ourtesy of our boxing correspondent, Gareth A Davies :.

A nthony Crolla sees tonight's lightweight world unification contest with Jorge Linares as "a legacy fight" with the Venezuelan who is ranked No 1 lightweight in the world by dint of holding The Ring Magazine belt.

Crolla, having transformed his career and public profile in the last two years, has elevated himself to world level both in terms of his performances in the ring and his standing outside it after an act of civil duty tackling burglars at a neighbour's home which led to him being assaulted and having to battle back from a fractured skull and broken ankle.

Crolla put the incident behind him almost two years ago to climb the ladder and become a world champion. Linares represents a huge challenge for the year-old, but Crolla is on familiar ground having fought his last three bouts inside the Manchester Arena.

I'll watch it back. I made a few mistakes and walked onto a few sharp counters. I'm disappointed in that and I'm disappointed I couldn't win those belts for Manchester.

I'm not going to lie. My head's still spinning now. I'm in great condition and that's what pulled me through it.

It's a pleasure to share the ring with a great like Linares. A few mistakes can cost you dearly and that's what happened tonight.

Anthony Crolla V Jorge Linares What time is it? Although Crolla had his moments after that some more clever combinations by Linares banked another round. This will be exhibition type stuff now.
